INSTALLATION “COLLECTING“
The installation’s „Collecting” idea comes from a personal observation about a person and the author’s attraction to things, continuous thoughts about them and collecting and keeping too many belongings. The focus of the work is a marginal personage of a ‘hoarder’. His characteristics, habits and actions can be seen in the illustrations and narratives of the large scale paintings When we change our accommodation or reorganize it, we realize that the amount of things we own has increased again. Nevertheless, there is an unstoppable desire for a new computer or new piece of clothing, even if the previous one is still good enough.
Instalācijas „Collecting” idejas pamatā ir personīgs novērojums par apkārtējo cilvēku un autores piesaisti lietām, nemitīgām domām par tām un „apaugšanu ar mantām”. Darba centrā ir margināls „vācēja” tēls, kura īpašības, paradumi un darbība nolasāmi lielformāta gleznojumu veidotā naratīvā un objektos, kas raksturojami kā lietu vākšanas ilustrācijas. Mainot dzīvesvietu vai pārkārtojot dzīvojamo telpu, tiek apjausts, ka piederošo priekšmetu skaits atkal audzis, taču neatturamā vēlme pēc jauna datora vai kāda apģērba gabala, kaut arī iepriekšējais vēl pietiekami labs, joprojām ir spēcīgi vilinoša.
